Good eats: Houston Restaurant Week

Munch, munch, munch. I've been here in H-town for 4 years and have never gone to try the restaurants during this event until this weekend. We went to a snazzy little place called Oceanaire, located in the Galleria. Seafood isn't normally part of my palate, but then again, I've never had "gourmet" seafood.

It was also our friend's birthday, and we were all impressed by how the management printed "Happy Birthday" on the top of our menus! That is service.
Unfortunately, I wasn't impressed much after that. The appetizer was worth mentioning though. I had some smoked salmon with capers and pickled onions. It was the most flavorful dish of the night! I wouldn't mind lunching on this stuff every day.

They also brought out a complimentary baked alaskan for the special boy. So huuuge! and alcoholic. My goodness, my first bite was just alcohol infused in the whipped cream. The girls took the liberty of eating most of it though =).

There were so many of us!
