Good eats: Indika

Had a great time celebrating a friend's birthday here. Good atmosphere, comfortable lighting, but unfortunately a long wait for the food. I did not think a party of 12 would take more than an hour of wait for our entrees. Nevertheless, service was exceptional and here were the best bites!

Baby lamb chops with mint masala, pickled eggplant, saffron raita [$13]
If you're not a big eater, go for this appetizer as an entree.

Portabella layered with spinach, butternut squash, curried garbanzo beans & homemade goatcheese [$19]
This had such a satisfying burst of taste. The curry had a good helping of heat and the mushroom was succulent. It even had hidden gems of pomegranate. Oh yes!

Slow cooked lamb shank with a roasted garlic, tomato, & onion masala, mustard potatos [$27]
The meat was exceptionally tender and fell off the bone. A definite manly dish to satisfy the abyssal stomach.

A tasting platter of our vegetarian platter [$20]
A wonderful presentation of green curry, a reduction of rice and lentil, green beans, and company. My Indian culinary vocab is quite limited.

Saffron pistachio ice cream [$8]
The only dessert name that caught my eye was this one. Unfortunately, it didn't taste anything special. The saffron was overwhelmed by vanilla and the pistachio were actual pistachio. I was hoping for a more decadent version of pistachio gelato. The portion was big enough to split among 4+ people.

Parking was free valet (but remember to tip). The company was great :)
