Flats: Bloch

I've never heard of Bloch flats until a good friend recommended them to me. Best recommendation ever.

The Roundtoe flats are leather outer, genuine suede inner, and have leather soles. The quality is at the highest as the leather is supple soft and the suede like pillows. The leather trim do not rub away at my skin and overall the shoe is very light, but sturdy. I love them not only for the quality but for the understated luxury -- no logos, trademarks, or bling.

Bloch is a company that specializes in dance footwear, especially real ballerina shoes. Take a look at their packaging:

Pink, delicate, and attentive -- it blew me away and made me want to be a ballerina. I got both black and sepia because I could not decide for the life of me. I actually like the sepia color, true in the photo. It is this earthy brown-golden color and I absolutely adore!

As for the price, they retail for $115, but I purchased them for about $35 each. :) It was worth the investment, and now I can stop coveting the Tory Burch Prescot Flats.

Here are my Walmart $10 dupes. As you can see, I have somewhat wide feet, but the leather so far has been very accomodating. I'll still be wearing my old ones because the material is waterproof (Houston weather is very humid). That said, spring is coming (less humid) and I'm excited to try blochs out. I'll probably keep the cheap one in my lab so I can walk in with flip-flops, my usual wear in above-50 weather.

  1. I had to sit and ponder when I read "Bloch" thinking it was really familiar. Heehee, glad I scrolled down because I do remember wearing Bloch ballet flats back in the old days. I didn't know they made things for street wear! The modest heel looks like it can withstand lots of wear. Maan, please share how you bought these for almost 70% off!

  2. I got these from lord & taylor online, with an extra 20? 30? percent off promo code. If you're size 6.5, I believe I saw the sepia still in stock!

That's so cool that you did ballet! I had always wished I had taken some dance classes. :) You should do a ballet-inspired outfit pehe.
